Bianca Clark scored the lone goal of the game and Cate Cavalier stopped all 15 shots by the Lumberjacks getting the shutout. Moorhead is now 7-2 on the season.
Girls Soccer Wins Against Apollo 7-2
Janessa Haasbeek lifted the Spuds with a hat-trick Saturday afternoon at the Horizon Middle School soccer field as Moorhead defeated St. Cloud Apollo 7-2. Bianca Clark contributed two goals and Morgan Holm had two assists and a goal as the Spuds improved to 5-2 on the season. The girls will play Tuesday, September 20 against Alexandria starting at 5:00 p.m.

Elk River Gets Past Spud Girls Soccer 3-2
The Elks Rachel Lessier scored the game winning goal in overtime to defeat the Spud girls Friday 3-2. Jae Borgan and Abi Christensen each scored for Moorhead giving the Spuds a 2-0 lead going into halftime. In the second half the Elks responded and scored two goals to even the game sending it into overtime. Cate Cavalier of the Spuds made 18 saves in net.
