Moorhead Athletic Association
Moorhead Athletic Association Friday luncheon
Join the MAA for lunch starting at noon on Friday, September 16 at the Moorhead Country Club and listen to Kevin Feeney - Moorhead Football, Terry Horan - Concordia Football and Chris Berg - former Fargo South and Stanford Quarterback and current radio talk show host on 1100 am.
MAA is a group of local Moorhead sports boosters, and has been in existence for over 50 years. While the Moorhead Athletic Association is not a fundraising group, many of our members have worked behind the scenes, over the years, to spearhead fund drives for projects such as the Moorhead Sports Center and the new Jim Gotta Football/Track & Field Stadium. MAA meets every Friday for lunch at 12:00 during the sports season at the Moorhead Country Club. Each Friday luncheon at the beautiful Moorhead Country Club includes coaches presentations from Moorhead High, Concordia and Minnesota State University Moorhead.
Our meetings begin Fridays in late August, and include previews and outlooks on football, soccer, volleyball and cross-country. We also try to include a visit from a local media personality each week, and have enjoyed hearing from Steve Hallstrom, Scott Peters, Greg Enkers, Mike Mcfeely and Derek Hanson. We’ve also featured presentations from Forum sportswriters, including Heath Hotzler and Kerry Collins. We have been fortunate enough to have former Bison and Buffalo Bills player Phil Hansen, and Redhawks and Houston Astros baseball player Chris Coste.
As we move through the winter sports season we will see regular visits from hockey, basketball, and wrestling coaches representing MHS, Concordia and MSUM, as well as occasional presentations from swimming and gymnastics.
Our spring meetings include presentations from track and field, golf, and baseball coaches.
We hope you can stop by and give the MAA a try – you’ll enjoy it!
Lunches are $8.50, and annual dues are an affordable $25.00
